On the edge of the Wellington River this campground has a number of well grassed and secluded sites among eucalypt and low hills.

If the weather is warm, the river has a couple of nice swimming spots (although fairly shallow) with crystal clear running water.

The camp sites are well separated and there are rustic picnic tables.

Thanks to Peter for the following updates.

We rate Mutton Wood at 4.2/5

Relatively broad and extended riverside flats in a narrow forested valley. The best Wellington Rv camp for caravans and big rigs. Semi-dispersed sites, some with parking bays, some not constrained. Reasonable shade from blue leafed Red Box, Peppermint and Mountain Gum with an understory of saplings and wattles over level, well grassed red gravel.
